What the Bible says about divination and witchcraft

Calling up spirits, séances in which we supposedly see the spirit of a dead person, divination, tarot, etc. satanic practices were definitely forbidden in the Holy Scriptures. God Himself, while leading the Israelites in the desert, gave them a prohibition against using such "services," knowing what it would lead to. People who disregarded God's decree were to be punished with death, God was very concerned that people should not have to deal with such practices. Let the following quotes serve as proof:

Exodus 22.18 "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live."

Leviticus 19.26-31 "Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.", "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God."

Leviticus 20.6,27 "And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.", "A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them."

Deuteronomy 18.9-14, 20 "When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.", "But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die."

Isaiah 8.19 "And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?"

When you read the Old Testament, you learn that the Israelites, after settling in the Promised Land, led a life similar to a sine wave. For a few years they were faithful to God, but with each passing year they moved farther and farther away from Him, built temples on the hills for idols, divination and spirit calling were rampant. Their state then collapsed, neighboring countries plundered their lands. When they saw that the state they were in threatened their lives and the country might cease to exist, they turned to God for help. They then turned away from the pagan idols and killed the diviners, who were largely responsible for the downfall of the entire nation. God came to the rescue and after some time the situation was repeated.

If you have not read the Bible, you may not realize the importance of using such services. People who deceive people in this way do not have the gift of the Holy Spirit, but are dealing with evil forces. When calling spirits, there is a very high probability that evil spirits will take control of your mind, beware of this at all costs. Read the Bible and you will learn that the soul after death waits for the Last Judgment, it does not stay on earth during this time, there is no way you can see it. The phantoms and spirits you see are a deception of Satan, who knows that you want to see them, he feeds you your own desire.

The predictions of the fairies according to the Bible are wrong

It happens that a fortune teller will predict your future, which to some extent will come true. Remember that during such séances stands Satan, who knows us very well, knows how we are likely to act in life. If you do not ask God for help, it is not a problem for the demon to direct your thoughts and actions in such a way that at some point what he predicted will come true. To this end, he can also, by trying to influence other people around you, bring about events that will convince you that the fortune teller was telling the truth. Consider one thing, though: if God condemns divination so much, who then is behind the fortune tellers? Would God give the power of the Holy Spirit by means of which such a person predicted the future and had financial benefits? Every prophet of God was guided directly by God and performed his service for free.

One of the easiest ways to prove that psychics, spirit callers, bioenergotherapists who heal for money, etc. people don't have the gift of the Holy Spirit is to ask them if they believe in God Jesus Christ and what they think of Him. Try talking about God for at least a moment before the séance and see their reaction. In the vast majority of cases you will be met with reluctance, you are then sure that you have met with a person behind whom is evil and not God, although such a person will not always respond negatively, he may then pretend to read the Scriptures to deceive you.

In the Book of Samuel, we are shown how Saul went to the fortune-teller En-Dor, who was the only survivor in Israel after Saul had previously ordered the removal of fortune-tellers and spirit callers from the land. In the Book of Chronicles, we have it explained that Saul did wrong not to ask the Lord, but the fortune-teller, behind whom were unclean forces, Satan.

1 Chronicles 10.13-14 " So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse."

Paul casts out the demon

People who mistakenly believe that the teachings of the Old Testament became invalid, after the coming of Jesus Christ, have an example in the New Testament in the Acts of the Apostles, how Paul cast out a demon who preached that they were servants of God:

Acts 16.16-20 "And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,"

As a first thought, the question that comes to mind is why did Paul cast out the demon that preached that they were God's servants, and was it really a demon? It is certain that the Holy Spirit Paul would not have cast out, so it must have been a demon who was acting very insidiously here. What did the demon, who is an opponent of Jesus, want to achieve by preaching about Paul being sent by God and preaching the way of salvation?

People's attention would then be focused on the fact that this spirit is telling the truth and not lying, and so all other divinations that were prophesied by it would be considered by people to be true and probably coming from God. The evil spirit would thus deceive a significant number of people, who instead of obeying the prohibition against divination, would indulge in something that God forbade. We can also read that through this spirit certain people benefited financially, which is also contrary to what the Scriptures teach.
