Does a person have influence over his life
Many people wonder if they have influence over their lives, since the Bible says that all our deeds have already been written in a book, e.g: Psalm 139.16 "Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."
So why should we toil and act morally when everything has already been predicted, and our fate is already known anyway? One might say, "what is to be, will be". Nothing could be further from the truth.
Just because God knows our future doesn't mean you know it. So why would Jesus come to earth? Let the fact that the Savior, prayed for us, suffered so that we could be saved, talked to people and tried to guide them to the right path, be eternal proof that we are the ones who influence our lives, otherwise prayers with requests would be foolishness or a waste of time, which is what Jesus taught.
It would be in vain to teach God's 10 commandments if the book indicated whether or not you would obey them anyway.
God gave each of us free will, if you didn't have it there would be no fallen angels and evil in this world. You have free will so that you can appreciate free love, the kind that loves no matter what, and that's the only kind of love God wants. The very existence of evil is proof that you alone are responsible for your actions. If you had no free will and only fulfilled what is written on the pages of the book, you would not be a free man, but a puppet or a living robot in the hands of God. The death of the Savior contradicts the fact that you are a toy, since He died for you it means that in His eyes you have great value. Who would give their life to save a toy? It would also be foolish to write a scenario for these toys to rebel and additionally go to suffer for them.
We take responsibility for what we do
Any normal person knows that if he drives a car 200km/h - 124,27 mil/h on an icy street and does not slow down on a curve, he will cause an accident. If, having this knowledge, he nevertheless does this and kills himself because he was driving like a fool, will he be blamed himself or his knowledge, which prompted him that if he does this, the car will not fit on the curve?
The instructions for microwave ovens say "Liquids AND food must not be heated in tightly sealed boxes, as there is a risk of explosion." If you do that and the drink explodes, is the person who wrote the instructions to blame, or you yourself?
It is the same with God. The Creator knows our future, but it's up to us to decide whether we steer toward good or evil in life. God's knowledge of our lives has no influence on how we choose. Yes He will help us in our choices, show us the right way, He has already given His life for us, but God will not change your will by force, this you have guaranteed from Him. If you do not love Him and reject Him then He will accept it, such is the price He paid in the name of free love. God will weep over your soul, but He will not go so far as to take away your free will.
