Church and pride
Church pride is one of the main reasons why people leave the church they belong to. Unfortunately, but the leadership doesn't seem to see it, or doesn't want to see it. This is not a problem of just one church or religious group, but of the vast majority of them. In which church will you hear: very good that you found God, now find a good Protestant church and attend there. Instead you will hear: come to us, in other churches they preach untruth, they act contrary to the Scriptures.
Is there an infallible church in the world? Yes, the church of Jesus Christ, which has no building in this broken complacent world. And are there churches that consider themselves infallible? Yes, they are such churches that have fallen into pride, have lost their minds thinking that they are the only chosen ones.
It's sad to see the church you used to go to start proclaiming more and more often and more strongly that they are the only one. They belittle true faith in God, ascribe it to a building or grouping, claiming that only with them is the real truth. When you take a better look at the denominations, you will see that they often differ slightly on a few issues, completely unaffected by the daily life of a Christian.
I recently watched a sermon in which a former pastor boasted about how he converted to the true faith by moving from one Protestant church to another. We hear him claim that Satan kept him blinded from the truth for 55 years. Not only did the pastor move to the new church, but so did all the members. The entire lecture refers only to boasting that he is now in a church that has the one true faith. The video was hard to watch, dripping with pride, praising this church to which the pastor has moved. During the 17 minutes, the audience clapped several times, including a standing ovation. Is such an attitude supposed to cause others to move to such a church? They are so wrapped up in themselves that they don't see the sin of pride, the poison of today's churches.
Boasting at the lectern is hubris
And now the worst part. There was a standing ovation when the pastor said the church had switched to another denomination, and the members said they didn't understand everything he did and said, but they saw passion in him, loved and trusted him, so they would follow his example. They changed the denomination in one day. It's scary how the whole church followed the man, not understanding what he was doing, they trusted the man and not the Scriptures. The Bible commands, check what is written, don't trust people, even those who are most trustworthy. That's why we have the Bible, to read it and check what is written. If we don't understand something, let's read about it, look for different interpretations so that we know several positions. More strangely, this new church preaches that one should not follow man, but God. Regardless of which church is mentioned and whether the reason for the transition is true, it should not boast so much and humiliate others.
After watching the video, I felt disgusted, dislike, which again drove me away from this church. I can't stand the pride in the denominations, I get tired of the constant exaltation, humiliation of others. I am not in favor of ecumenism, of merging the church into one big mixture of denominations. The truth is one and one should stick to it. Let's not demean and define other denominations as being led by Satan just because they interpret Scripture differently.
A denomination that is based on Scripture and not on people and tradition should be respected by us. My opinion is not isolated, many people in the church I attended thought the same. Because of this attitude towards other denominations, I stopped supporting this church financially, I don't even throw a coin on the tray. There are so many needy people around us that you can easily find people, institutions, foundations to support financially.
